We all are familiar with the adage Necessity is the mother of invention . But in todays advanced world, inventing something totally novel is an arduous task. The way out of this quagmire is to innovate. Techno-vation is a Software-Presentation event. This event will prise out the dormant innovator in you and showcase it. So create the requisite applications and summon up a stentorian voice to make your brainchild the cynosure of all eyes.
In this event, students have to either create any application using an infrequent/rare/new technology or an innovative application using a commonly used technology, and present it in front of an audience and a panel of judges during DAKSH.
All the below rounds are point based which will add up to the final score.
Round 1:Abstract Submission
In this round, participants have to submit a document containing the following:
I) Description of the technology used.
II) Description of the Application.
III) Initial snapshots of the Application
*Web based applications are discouraged unless the idea is very innovative.
Each participant upon registration will be given an ID and password to the "TechnoBank Portal".
The LAST DATE for round 1 Submissions is 22nd February.
The submissions should be in the following Format:
-All the Content (Document+Snapshots+ others) Should be packed in a Zipped Format.
-Your abstract should include the contact details of all the Participants.
-The Subject of the mail should be "Technovation-TeamName".
-Mail the zipped file to compsense[AT]daksh[DOT]sastra[dot]edu.
Round 2:Presentation Round
In this round, the team will have to present the software and the technology used, before a panel of judges.
CONTRIBUTE TO THE "TECHNOBANK PORTAL":
-> Add a new Technology and upload your application idea.
-> Upload an E-book (10 Points) - Can be done only once.
-> Add a video link (5 Points / verified link) - Maximum 3 videos.
-> Add a code bank or other links. ( 1 point per verified link)
*The participants application idea and technology will be displayed on the TechnoBank site and
can be 'Liked' by the visitors. (The top 5 ideas with the maximum likes will get Bonus Points)
-A Limited Number of Speakers will be selected to present their technology on each day of DAKSH.A Schedule with the technology and the speaker's name will be put up in the campus and on the site.
- A winner will be selected for each day.
FAQ'S::
Q. Can we use any third party libraries?
A. Yes you are free to use any third party libraries but you have to state their importance while presenting your application and you have to mention it in the abstract given.
Q. What if I do not know any new technology and wanted to learn one?
A.DAKSH is about learning and not winning .TECHNO BANK portal will contains materials uploaded by other participants, organizers and other geeks at COMPSENSE,
you can have a look at them and learn from them. Moreover, as we are not expecting a huge application, you can start learning it now and make a small application.
The winner will be decided on the use he puts the technology into and not the application itself.
Q. How should I present my application?
A.You need to present your application in an auditorium and a projector will be provided .Remember you are presenting a 'new technology' so make your language as simple as possible.
The clarity about the technology and the application will be considered for marking.
Q.What is the Judging Criteria? A.The teams will be awarded points on the following basis :
- The Application Built
- Command over the technology used
- Audience Vote ( 5 Points )
